We're a small, informal club, regularly attracting 4 – 10 players, at all levels.
We meet in the Buck Inn in Newbiggin, Richmond, either in the Snug or in the back room.
There's easy parking in Newbiggin, and level access within the pub.
We start play at 7 pm on Wednesdays. Games are limited to an hour and are curtailed if they overrun. Most of us play one or two games a night.
Any word will do, if it's in the Official Scrabble Words.
If you're a novice, or rusty, you may consult a dictionary for your first two or three visits. We can also provide a friendly mentor if you'd like some coaching.
No board? Don't worry - there are always some spares.
If we get an odd number of people, we'll have a three-player game. We're very easy-going that way.
If you wrongly challenge an opponent's word, you don't forfeit your next go. How kind is that!
If you want to play social games only, that's fine. If you want to join one of our occasional competitions, that's fine too.
We encourage members to join our WhatsApp list, so they can confirm their presence or absence each week, and generally be kept in touch with what's going on.
There are no fees, but please buy a drink or a coffee, as the Buck kindly hosts us free of charge.
